About the Journal
GOTAVA is a national journal that publishes scholarly works from research and community service/empowerment across disciplines. The journal focuses on the application of science, technology, and the arts to address real-world societal challenges, as well as on applied research findings that advance well-being and sustainable development.
Scope includes (but is not limited to): applied research and program evaluation, policy studies, appropriate technology, MSME empowerment and local economies, public health, education and literacy, environment and food security, governance and social development, and higher-education partnerships with government, industry, and communities.
Editorial and peer review. All submissions undergo an initial editorial assessment. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal’s criteria may be declined without external review. Eligible submissions are sent for peer review by external referees, and editorial decisions are based on reviewer recommendations. Accepted manuscripts proceed through copyediting and production prior to publication.
Frequency and publication model. GOTAVA is published twice a year, in June (No. 1) and December (No. 2), and adopts a “Publish as You Go” model. Articles that have passed peer review and been accepted will be processed and published in the current issue with an “In Progress” status, without waiting for the issue to be filled.
We accept research articles, community engagement articles, reviews, case studies/best practices, technical notes/briefs, and short communications, provided they align with the journal’s focus and scholarly standards.
