Plagiarism Check

The editorial board of GOTAVA realizes that plagiarism is unacceptable and therefore establishes the following policy, which outlines specific actions (sanctions) upon the identification of plagiarism or similarity in articles submitted for publication. GOTAVA uses originality-checking software, such as Turnitin, to detect textual similarity in both the article manuscript and the final version of the article prepared for publication. A maximum similarity index of 20% is allowed for submitted papers. If the similarity index exceeds 20%, the article will be returned to the author for revision and resubmission.

Plagiarism Levels

  • Minor: Short sections of another article are plagiarized, without significant data or ideas taken from the original source.
Action taken: A warning is issued to the author, along with a request to revise the text and properly cite the original source.

  • Intermediate: A significant portion of the article is plagiarized without proper citation of the original source.
Action taken: The article is rejected, and the author is barred from submitting to the journal for one year.

  • Severe: A substantial part of the article is plagiarized, including the reproduction of original results or ideas from another publication.
Action taken: The article is rejected, and the author is barred from submitting to the journal for five years.

It is understood that all authors are equally responsible for the content of their submitted articles, as they have read and agreed to the journal’s Copyright Notice. In the event that plagiarism is detected, all listed authors will be subject to the same penalties.
